Fincker Font Cuisine

Fincker Font Cuisine is an independent type foundry launched by Julien Fincker after six years as a freelance type designer. The name reflects his parallel passion for fine dining, drawing connections between the craft of cooking and type design.

Heritage

The foundry's branding draws on Fincker's family history. Since the early 20th century, his ancestors ran a delicatessen in Colmar, Alsace, with elaborate branding created by the Alsatian artist Jean-Jacques Waltz (known as Hansi). The logo pays homage to this heritage, and the initials F.F.C. echo the original family business.

Notable Typefaces

The foundry's catalog includes Marblis (released November 2025), a modern grotesque sans-serif positioned as a contemporary alternative to Helvetica, offering 20 styles with over 1,410 glyphs per style and extensive OpenType features suited for corporate design, editorial layouts, and wayfinding systems. The name "Marblis" draws from rock formations, reflecting the typeface's ambition as a durable, versatile typographic foundation.
